Plymouth "Mega Ride" 2004 13th June 2004 We were kindly invited by Plymouth Advanced Motorcyclists to the annual Plymouth Mega Ride on Sunday 13th June 2004. The weather was fantastic blue sky and the sunshine helped attract an estimated 6,000 bikers from all over the south west region to converge in a roar of exhaust noise on the historic and scenic setting of Plymouth Hoe. The bikers set off from Lee Mill just outside Plymouth every year and cause chaos halting the traffic as they are escorted by the local police into Plymouth city centre and onto the seafront.
We were amazed by the interest in the TFR race bike which stood proud on the P.A.M. stand. Some riders had never been on the track before and wanted to know what it was like, others were interested in the race bike itself - in particular the suspension, uprated braking system, lightweight wheels and the other race parts which helped us promote and publicise all of our sponsors and supporters of the TFR race programme.
Thanks to everyone we met on the day and all your words of good luck with the battle for this year's racing championships. Special thanks must go to Ian, chairman of Plymouth Advanced Motorcyclists, for the invite for the day. See you at Thruxton, guys?
